Положення про кафедру цивільного права і процесуHistory of the DepartmentThe Department of Civil Law and Trial was established on January 18th, 2001 to ensure the teaching of basic civil legal educational subjects, creating the necessary educational and methodical basis, making scientific researches on the problems of civil law and trial, family and labour legal relations, international private law and legal ensuring of professional activity and to ensure the ability to acquire practical skills of students in practical training.
At present the main directions of the Department's methodical and research activity are study of problems of civil law, in particular, legal regulation of civil legal relations during formation and development of air transport industry, questions on legal description of civil law subjects, problems of legal regulation of delictual liability, questions on protection of rights to the intellectual property objects, questions on legal regulation of family and hereditary legal relations, methodological problems of labour law general theory. The educational and methodical complexes were developed and a number of educational accessories and textbooks on the basic courses were published by the efforts of the Department's professorial and teaching staff, namely: "Civil Law", "Family Law", "Civil Trial Law", "Intellectual Property Right", "Comparative Private Law", "Labour Law", "International Private Law", "Corporative Law", "Social Safety Law", "Housing Law", "Civil Contracts in Bank Activity", "Civil and Legal regulation of Medical Services", "Problems of Labour Law". Under the supervision of the Department's teaching staff students are actively engaged in scientific work, the results of which are annually presented by them on the "Days of Science" of the Law Faculty and on the conferences. Upbringing of students' legal culture, respect to the human rights and freedoms are the fundamental component of activity of every member of the Department during the lectures or in extracurricular time, i.e. in the University and hostels, during excursions and meetings with interesting people who works in legal institutions, human rights organizations, law unions. The Department's teaching staff regularly meets with students to discuss all necessary questions and it is actively engaged in agitationtional activity in schools in Kyiv and regions.
