History of the departmentThe Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Faculty of Law was founded in accordance to the decision of the Academic Council of the NAU of September 19, 2001, with the aim of providing teaching of fundamental legal disciplines and the formation of students with sound knowledge in the field of law, as well as for developing the necessary general theoretical and historical and legal base of teaching fundamental and professionally-oriented legal disciplines. Since September 2001, the department was headed by Miroshnichenko Vasyl Ivanovych, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor. From September 2003 to February 2010, the head of the department was a candidate of legal sciences, professor Vitaliy Petrovich Marchuk.

Priority directions of scientific work:One of the priority areas of scientific work of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law is the work on the state budget theme " Legal consciousness and legal culture in conditions of civil society formation " №68/13.01.01 (01.09.2019 - 30.06.2022), scientific adviser Professor Borodin IL is a Ph.D.
