April 14, 2014 at the Law Institute was held a regular meeting of the Center for Mediation to discuss the participants on current issues of violence in today's society.
Dmitry Saturday (group PR -405) in its report "Theoretical and legal description of the term "violence" explored the etymology and meaning of the term "violence", specifying its main characteristics and stressed that it is the subject of study of many sciences: philosophy, sociology, psychology, criminology, political science, and others. The speaker noted that violence has become signs of social degradation and therefore a threat personally for each person and for public institutions and state. The report "Types of violence in today's society," Valery Yakunenko (Group PR- 204) identified certain types of violence: physical, mental, sexual, gender, racial, information, home or other, completing their analysis. The student said that violence is an expression of the wars, devaluation of human life, rule of phenomena such as anti-human aggression, violence. Therefore, each of us, society and the state as a whole must defend yourself and your loved ones from aggression and cruelty, to help people who have experienced violence. John Shay (Group PR -202) in its report "The causes of violence in today's society and ways to prevent it" analyzed the underlying causes of violent targeting people according to a study conducted in Ukraine by Research & Branding Group. At the end of the report John Shay said that violence is largely dependent on the effective resolution of the country's social and economic problems, strengthening human values in society, personal and civic responsibility for their actions.
