On the 25th of February in 2014 the Law Institute hosted a tournament from Law “Legal Olympus” between last year pupils of schools and lyceums of Kyiv. The purpose of the event is to increase interest to legal knowledge and form legal thinking and legal culture of the younger generation.
The last year pupils from the Aerospace Lyceum named after Sikorsky I., the Lyceum № 227 named after Gromov M.M., the Specialized schools № 49, № 96, № 215, № 222, № 234 and the Secondary school of I-III levels № 128 were participants of the tournament. Their knowledge from “Law” and “History of Ukraine” the participants showed during the three rounds of the tournament: the round 1 was Warm-up “Who will be the first”, where those who faster than others gave the correct answer to the questions and scored more points won; the round 2 was “Intelligent assault”, the terms of which provided the final after receiving the most quantity of points for correct answers for 2 questions; the 3rd final round was “The competition of future professionals” in which the participants demonstrate their ability to speak and convince pronounced speech on the theme “The future of Ukraine as the legal state”. The answers of the participants of the event were estimated by the jury, they were the Director of the Law Institute Iryna Sopilko, the Deputy Director of Science Rostyslav Kalyuzhny and the heads of the departments of the Law Institute Natalia Filyk, Sophia Lyhova, Viktor Nazarov, Bogdan Shyshka, Stephen Goncharuk, Ivan Borodin. The common jury decision selected the winners and awarded them with diplomas. They are Buchnev Olexander is the 10th grade pupil of the Aerospace Lyceum named after Sikorsky I. NAU Kyiv (the 1st place); Orlovsky Valentyn is the 10th grade pupil of Aerospace Lyceum named after Sikorsky I. NAU Kyiv (the 2nd place); Kovbyk Maxym is the pupil of the Lyceum № 227 named after Gromov M.M. Kyiv (the 3rd place). Also all the participants of the tournament and the directors of the schools got helpful votes for significant contribution and promotion of the tournament. This event once again shows that the Law Institute works not only in the educational process of the students but also strongly attached to education of pupils with the aim to demonstrate their creative and intellectual potential, creation of a person with higher understanding of law.
