As part of a nationwide Law Week, December 11, 2013 Ph.D., Associate Professor of Air and Space Law of Institute Yuri Korneev, head of the crime lab Lily Grekova student of group PR -404 Catherine Siruk held a lecture for students of 9-10 grades of Kyiv school number 13 in on "Legal consciousness of the Ukrainian people."
The relevance of this topic is due to the significance of issues related to the study of legal consciousness in Ukrainian society, since the formation of justice in Ukraine is closely linked with the issue of further transformation of Ukrainian society based on democratic principles. Yuri Korneev said that legal consciousness must be based on the requirements of natural and positive law, human values, historical experience of the country, national mentality and traditions of the people of the world legal and cultural heritage. That’s why the preparation of citizens to accept new democratic values provides training them such justice, which meets not only the universal values and principles of international law, but also historical traditions and mentality of the Ukrainian people. An important factor that positively affects the formation of legal awareness of citizens is their active participation in the reform of all areas of social life through participation in the activities of political parties , associations, NGOs and other civil society institutions. At the end of the meeting the students visited the Museum of National Aviation University.
