November 21, 2013 Ph.D., Associate Professor of Criminal Law and Process of Law Institute Inna Roschina and students of PR-304 and Olexandr Tolkach and Ivan Grynyuk in high school № 318 "Millennium" held in Kyiv for the 11-th class open lecture on topic "Criminal protection of rights and legitimate interests of minors in Ukraine".
During the event high school students indicated that the protection of children's rights in Ukraine is provided by means of criminal law, which include, firstly, differentiation and individualization of criminal liability and punishment of persons under the age of majority, and secondly, a more severe penalty to persons who have committed a crime against a child. The issue of protection of minors criminal law, because of its important theoretical and practical significance, is actively studied in Ukrainian legal science. However, this does not diminish its importance, since the formation of the system of criminal law protection of children's rights continues, and the system needs improvement. The main purpose of such activities is to introduce minors to the protection of their rights and the protection of legitimate interests in Ukraine.
