12-15 of November, 2013 in Kiev took place International conference "5th Kyiv International Model United Nations" with the assistance and support of the NAU, Taras Shevchenko National University, deputies of Ukraine, the UN Office in Ukraine and GUAM.
This year's conference gathered over 150 participants from 25 different countries, among them were students and graduate students, pupils of the high school, talented youth from Ukraine and abroad. The best students of the Law Institute Bondarenko Daria, Mary Roschuk, Victoria Merenkova, Ilona Zemlyak, Irina Mahlovana and specialist of the Training center of air and space law problems Alexandra Vedenyeva have properly presented NAU at 5th Kyiv International Model United Nations. As experts and honored guests were invited director of the Law institute Irina Sopilko, deputies of Ukraine, members of diplomatic missions in Ukraine, international organizations and government agencies. The key issues of the conference were problems of migration policy and the role of youth in modern globalization processes. During the discussions and exchange of opinions participants have enriched their knowledge of international law, had the opportunity to express their own understanding of world policy, improved their speaking, diplomatic and communication skills. Students of the Law Institute, in particular, took part in the modeling of the International Court of Justice, the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and the 1st Committee - GA, which worked in English. International Model UN allows young people to not only touch the world of diplomacy, but also get a lot of new friends and positive emotions.
