In the Law Institute the teaching and educational process of much attention given to the combination of theoretical knowledge with the practical application of them. April 23, 2013, the students of 1st year education in the framework of professional practice and in accordance with the program of their conduct visited Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Human Rights accompanied by a senior lecturer the department of Theory and History of State and Law Elena Makeeva.
During the excursion students learned about the history of the establishment of the Ombudsman institution in Ukraine, the activity of constitutional organ - Commissioner the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Human Rights for the implementation of parliamentary control over the observance of constitutional rights and freedoms of man and citizen, especially the legal status of the Ombudsman and the scope of its competence. The most interesting moment of excursion was meeting students with the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Human Rights - Valeriya Lutkovska. During a live communicating the students received a lot of useful and interesting information were able ask questions and showed high level of theoretical training. Valeriya Lutkovska told students about the current state of observance of rights and freedoms of citizens in Ukraine and on the activities of this important institution. Excursions to the state authorities contribute to improving level of legal awareness and legal culture of future lawyers, forming highly qualified specialists who can provide real establishment of a new system of values, which would be based on the principles of democracy, rule of law and respect to the human rights.
