On November 17, 2020, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Faculty of Law held a scientific-practical seminar on the topic "Genesis of legal consciousness as a philosophical and legal category".
Representatives of state organizations and institutions of higher education of Ukraine took part in the scientific event, in particular: Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Western Ukrainian National University, Doctor of Science, Professor - Andriy Grubinko; Deputy Head of the Service of Military-Technical Cooperation and Military-Industrial Policy of the Office of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine - Kostiantyn Karas; Director of the Research Institute named after Academician Ivan Lutsk, King Danylo University, Doctor of Law, Professor - Roman Lutsky; lawyer - Oksana Chubko; Deputy Director of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor - Mykola Golovko; Head of the Department of Legal Support of the Ivan Chernyakhovsky National University of Defense of Ukraine, Ph.D., Colonel of Justice - Mykhailo Prokhorenko, as well as research and teaching staff and students of the Law Faculty of NAU.
The topicality of the scientific-practical seminar was evidenced by the speeches of scholars and legal practitioners, which focused on the interaction of legal consciousness and legal culture, the relationship of legal consciousness and understanding of law in the context of the rule of law, transformation of legal culture in Europe, evolution of law from "custom" to current legislation. The issues of legal awareness as a factor against the pandemic in the context of the European civilization choice, a component of the development of legal consciousness in the military-industrial sphere and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an integral part of legal life in an era of globalization and information change.
The results of scientific discussions were the definition of sociological aspects of legal consciousness as a complex legal phenomenon, the basis for the formation of civil society and a kind of self-regulation of behavior in society, which requires improving social activity and quality of the legal education of the modern generation.
