October 15, 2020, at the Faculty of Law through video conference the Department of Civil Law and Process held a meeting of the scientific and practical round table on the topic "Legal regulation of foster care in Ukraine".
Representatives of higher educational institutions and state organizations took part in the work of the round table, among which: Associate Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure of the Law Institute of the Tavrichesky National University named after V.A.Vernadsky, Ph.D. - Sergey Gubarev; Professor of the Department of International, Civil and Commercial Law of the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor - Victoria Kozhevnikova; Assistant of the Department of Civil Law of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ph.D. - Oksana Zalizko; a lawyer of the Kyiv City Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar - Yuriy Ponur; lawyer Antonina Sosedova, as well as scientific and pedagogical workers of the Department of Civil Law and Process and students of the Faculty of Law.
During the event, issues of the expediency of legal regulation of the activities of foster parents by the norms of domestic labor legislation, international experience in the development of the institution of a foster family, and the peculiarities of legal registration of foster families in our country were discussed. In particular, the problems of social protection of orphans and children deprived of parental care, the content and procedure for agreeing on children between parents in case of divorce, the execution of a surrogacy agreement, legal regulation of adoption from the position of ensuring the interests of the child, as well as the moral and psychological relationships of children and parents in a foster family.
Based on the results of the scientific and practical round table, representatives of the scientific society proposed to cooperate in this direction to carry out further research on the problems of the institute of foster care by attracting specialists in the field of legislative work, practicing lawyers in this area, as well as studying the relevant modern scientific works and judicial practice.
