On March 12, 2019, at the Faculty of Law, a scientific and methodological seminar on the topic "Methodology of jurisprudence: modern legal discourse" was organized, by the Department of Theory and History of State and Law.
The event was attended by representatives of the Institute of Legislation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine, Kyiv National Trade and Economics University, etc.
An introductory speech was made by the dean of the faculty of Law Iryna Sopilko, who congratulated all the participants and wished them successful work. Informative speeches were made by the Head of the Department of History of Law and State of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Law, Professor Maria Miroshnichenko, who talked about the main principles of the methodology of historical and legal research; Professor of the Department of History of Law and State of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, Doctor of Law, Professor Petro Zakharchenko, who outlined the methodology of the history of Ukrainian law in his speech. Interesting were speeches from the point of view of the methodology of branch disciplines, associate professor of the department of general law disciplines of the Kiev National University of Trade and Economics, D.Sc. Viktor Mushhenko, who focused his attention on the use of monographic research in the teaching of legal disciplines; Associate Professor of the department of general law disciplines of the Kiev National University of Trade and Economics, Ph.D. Anna Svedova, who revealed the methodology of teaching human rights within the framework of criminal law disciplines. An original and relevant in modern conditions was the presentation of the senior lecturer of the Department of Civil, Commercial Law and the Process of the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine, Lidia Georginova, who focused on the active methods of teaching in jurisprudence, in particular, trainings, business games, the method of the Quintilian seven questions, which form the legal thinking of the future lawyers. All participants actively joined the discussion of the problems of the methodology of modern legal science.
Such events help to increase the level of professional skills of scientific and pedagogical workers of institutions of higher education, and the exchange of experience becomes a recipe of improving the quality of the educational process.
