12 March 2018 students of a group number 301 of the Juridical-Scientific Law Institute, accompanied by mentor Elena Makeeva, have honored the memory of the Great Kobzar by visiting the monument of Taras Shevchenko, who is located not far from the Kiev National University named after Taras Shevchenko on the occasion of the celebration of the 204th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko.
Taras Shevchenko is an outstanding personality not only for the XIX century, but also for any period of the newest Ukrainian history. That is why the poet is a symbol of the struggle of the freedom-loving Ukrainian people, whose creativity inspires, supports in difficult times and also gives hope for a better future for independent Ukraine. Students were talking about the role of creativity Kobzar during the event, the significance of his words in the present times, recited his works. Elena Makeeva said "Creativity of Shevchenko is a sacred thing, which Ukrainian people cherish and take pride in. We, the descendants, should always cherish in our hearts that spark of love for the Motherland, which the poet has lit with his immortal works". The students have laid flowers at the monument to T.G. Shevchenko as a sign of respect for the Great Fighter for the freedom and independence of our state.
