On December 1, 2017, at the General Reporting and Election Meetings of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine, the Director of the Education and Scientific Law Institute, dyu.n. Iryna Sopilko was elected as an academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine in the department of "Law".

The solemn awarding of the diploma by the president of the Academy Alexander Grigorovich Nakonechny and Vice-President of the Academy, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Maxim Vitaliyovich Strichoy was held at the Kiev National University named after Taras Shevchenko.
This distinction of the scientific elite of Ukraine is the result of Irina Sopilko's day-long persevering and diligent work aimed at developing domestic legal science, introducing scientific research into the educational process and qualitative training of highly skilled scientific and pedagogical staff.
