On October 27, 2017, the director of the Educational and Research Institute of Law, Doctor of Law Iryna Sopilko joined the discussion of the open lecture "Administrative Law in the Modern Dimension" held within the framework of the academic exchange program on administrative law at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
An interesting and new format for communication between leading scholars, postgraduates and masters, where the current progressive views of specialists in the field of administrative law were discussed, was presented by co-organizers of the event: OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (coordinator Irina Ivananki) and the European Center for Rule of Law (leader Dmitry Luchenko) . It is positive that the lecturers-speakers represented different regions of Ukraine, which facilitated the exchange of opinions of scholars of many academic schools of administrative law. Thus, the statement by Roman Melnyk, a Doctor of Law, a professor at the Department of Administrative Law of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, sparked a lively discussion on a new look at sources of administrative law, while Andrii Shkolyuk was a candidate of legal sciences, associate professor of the department of administrative and financial law of the Lviv National University named after Taras Shevchenko. Ivan Franko discussed with the present the prospect of implementation of the administrative-procedural code in Ukraine. No less interesting were the performances of Nadiya Pisarenko - Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative Law of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and Boris Kormich - Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Maritime and Customs Law of the Odessa Law Academy. All those present at the educational-educational event expressed a common opinion on the need for changes to be made both in national legislation and in the doctrine of administrative law.
