On September 26, 2017, the students of the Academic Group of the PR-104 of the Educational Scientific Law Institute, accompanied by the mentor Yulia Iurynets, visited Babi Yar, in order to commemorate the victims of the mass execution.
During the German occupation of Kiev in 1941-1943 Babi Yar became a place of mass shootings by the German occupiers of civilians and Soviet prisoners of war, Jews and gypsies - on ethnic grounds, as well as party and soviet activists, members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, hostages, "saboteurs" ", Violators of the curfew and others. During the excursion the students had the opportunity to see the sights that are installed in Babi Yar, among them: a monument to Soviet citizens and prisoners of war of soldiers and officers of the Soviet Army shot by German Nazis in Babiy Yar, a wooden cross in memory of 621 executed members of the OUN, a cross in the place of execution November 6, 1941, Archimandrite Alexander (Vishnyakova) and Archpriest Pavel, Monument shot at Babi Yar children and others. Such patriotic events are the primary source of the formation and development of the national self-awareness of youth, oriented towards the expression of national interests.
