On the occasion of the Ukrainian Law Week, December 8, 2016 the students of the 2nd and 4th courses of Teaching and Research Law Institute Maria Kravchuk, Pavlina Melnyk, Anna Fedorchuk, Yulia Shvets and professor of the Department of Business, Air and Space Law Valentina Kozyreva visited the general secondary school № 72 Sviatoshynsky district of Kiev.
The main purpose of the meeting was: to expand and deepen their knowledge with the criminal liability of minors Institute; increase the level of legal awareness and legal culture among young people. During the meeting, Valentina Kozyreva noted that although students are aware of the legal provisions to prevent delinquency, but often do not tend to follow them. Therefore, we must not only get acquainted with the texts of laws, memorize their content (which in itself is also important), but also through the prism of the right to know the problems of life, to learn to see beyond the lines of text of the law to real life needs, the problems they may encounter. Interesting and informative presentations were students, which escalated into the legal debate. Law students reviewed with students the main reasons for committing minor illegal acts, which are: lack of experience, tendency to imitate adults, are not always a positive effect on children's environment, trying to free himself from the part of the parents, the belief in impunity, lack of self-critical attitude to their own deeds, an erroneous assessment of difficult situations, the use of alcohol or drugs. One of the important tasks in order to reduce the level of crime and other illegal activities among the students was to work for the creation of conditions conducive to the social growth of young people, the statement in his mind human principles enshrined in the law, improving its social activity in activities aimed at preventing crime.
