On October 26, 2016 the students of group PR-201 of Educational and Scientific Law Institute, accompanied by Olena Makeіeva, the mentor, visited the National Museum of Art named after Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko.
History of museum collection started in the early 1870s, when a young lawyer and ardent lover of art Bogdan Khanenko married Varvara Tereschenko, who was from the family of prominent philanthropists. The building is a classic exposition of the European model of "historicism" – the movement of the last decade of 19th century, which included the reproduction of the spirit and form of different styles of classical art. The students were fascinated with the furnishing and decoration of individual rooms and their exhibits - paintings from different periods: medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Classicism. Future lawyers got the special delight from the paintings performed by D. Velazquez ("Portrait of the Infanta Margarita"), G. Bellini ( "Portrait of a patrician") and other masters of painting. Such events contribute to the efficient absorption of the material for the study of cultural, artistic features of the countries and nations of the world. In addition to it, they create a respect for different cultural traditions. In addition, visits to the museum become the opportunities to show the young generation the real service to people and society on the example of the life and work of prominent personalities – Varvara and Bogdan Khanenko.
