On the eve of World Day against polio, on October 22, 2016 students of Educational and Research Institute of Law together with the responsible person for the educational and training work Nina Trotsyuk participated in the charity event, which main goal is to urge parents to bring children to routine vaccination against polio to protect their risk of the disease.
Poliomyelitis is children's spinal paralysis, infectious disease caused by a lesion of the grey matter of the spinal cord with poliovirus characterized mainly by the disorder of a nervous system that ultimately leads to severe disability. The event was initiated by the organization "Rotary Ukraine" near the Arch of the Peoples’ Friendship. Members of the organization handed out informational materials to parents about vaccination against polio and students launched the several meters poster with the inscription "Stop polio" and went through Pedestrian bridge to the Truhaniv island. The highlight of the event was symbolic active fighters’ flight against polio in Ukraine over the Dniper, including the students of ER IL Yulia Dubrova and Aliona Burlaka on trolls’ attraction (the cable path to Truhaniv island) - as a symbol of overcoming polio everywhere in the world. Global Polio Eradication Initiative helps to reduce the prevalence of disease and give children and their families the possibility to have a healthy lifestyle.
