9 December 2015 research and teaching staff of the Department of civil law and process of Educational-scientific Institute of Law Anna Grabowsky and Yulia Beluga in conjunction with the Department of education of Sviatoshynskyi district in Kyiv state administration held in the Specialized school №197 named after D. A. Lutsenko lecture-debate «The Law as a regulator of social relations».

The purpose of the event is to inform students about the importance of law in any sphere of public life and to familiarize with the basic provisions of the Convention on the rights of the child.
The problem of legal protection of the child long time is in the spotlight of the international community, because children require special attention because of their vulnerability, physical and mental immaturity. That is why in 1989 the UN adopted an important document - the Convention on the rights of the child, based on the principles of the Declaration of the rights of the child 1959 In Ukraine, the Convention entered into force on 27 September 1991 the Main objectives of the international document is to provide children special care and assistance, providing the necessary protection to the family growing up child.
At the end of the event, high school students demonstrated their knowledge of the law and had the opportunity to participate in the contest «The Best expert on the Convention on the rights of the child». By results of competition the winners were awarded gifts.
