November 14 students of PR-105 with mentor Victoria Kiryan visited an outstanding monument of architecture and art, the shrine of the XII century - St. Cyril's Church (Kirillovskaya Church), which for centuries has retained its original appearance and historical value.
The temple was founded in the 1140's by the great prince of Kiev Vsevolod II Olegoviches as the patrimonial monastery dedicated to St. Cyril of Alexandria and became the burial place of representatives of the Chernigov princely dynasty of Olegoviches, but unfortunately, sarcophagi with princely burials before our time were not saved. The students learned about the ancient history of the founding of St. Cyril's Church and acquainted with a ancient Russian fresco paintings and works of outstanding artist M. Vrubel, who in the 80s. years of XIX century engaged in the restoration work of the church. Law students were also very interested the life history of M.Vrubel, who graduated from the law faculty of St. Petersburg University, by the wishes of his father, a military lawyer, and has not began to work on specialty, choose the way of the artist. Kirillovskaya paintings and icons have become an important milestone in the biography of M. Vrubel and in the history of Russian monumental painting of the XIX century. After the excursion, students discussed the importance of visiting the great monuments of architecture and art, cultural events and shrines which have a positive effect on the spiritual and cultural development of the personality of the future lawyer.
