27-28 November 2013, senior lecturer of Department of Constitutional and Administrative law of Law Institute Igor Rozum held the lecture with pupils of 11 classes of secondary school № 223 and № 254 of Kyiv on "Legal basis and development of information society in Ukraine".
During the discussion it was noted that one of the main priorities of Ukraine is striving to build a people-centered, open to all and aims to develop the information society, where everyone can create and accumulate information and knowledge for people to have free access, use and share them to allow each person to realize their potential, promoting social and personal development and improving the quality of life. Emphasized that since independence Ukraine formed certain legal principles for building information society, a number of normative acts regulating social relations to create electronic information resources, protection of intellectual property rights to these resources, the implementation of electronic document management, information security. The development of information society in Ukraine and the introduction of new information and communication technologies in all spheres of public life and activities of state and local governments currently defined one of the priorities of state policy. Holding the event contributed to the expansion of ideas and knowledge schoolchildren on the specifics of Information Policy of Ukraine, which is carried out at a time when the concept of the sovereignty of the information is in the process of formation.
