During the excursion students learned about the history of the museum and its funds, that clearly reflect the significant biographical page of the life and works of Taras Shevchenko, comprehensively covering his work as a poet, artist, thinker and public figure.
After seeing the permanent collection, that accounts for about two thousand items and covers 16 halls of the museum, the students were impressed by the large selection of exhibits: original works of art, photos, portraits and sculptures, autographs, lifetime editions of the inscriptions , ethnographic materials and furnishings. All that make it possible to create a coherent picture of the era in which the great artist lived and worked. The visit to the museum made it possible to know the Great Poet not only as a poet but also as a talented artist, dedicated and patriotic personality that was genuinely distressed for Ukraine.
