On June 11, 2024, students of the first year of study of the educational degree "Bachelor" of the specialty 081 "Law" during the course of professional introductory practice worked out the regulatory and legal documents that regulate the activities of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
During individual classes with practice managers, students analyzed the norms of the Laws of Ukraine: "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges" and some laws of Ukraine on the restoration of the work of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine", "On the Supreme Council of Justice", "On the judicial system and the status of judges", "On the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court", "On restoring trust in the judiciary in Ukraine", "On ensuring the right to a fair trial", "On the Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine", "On citizens' appeals".
Students also got acquainted with the history of the creation of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the structure of this body and its main tasks and powers, which include: keeping records of the number of positions of judges in courts, including vacant ones; carrying out the selection of candidates for appointment to the position of judge; making recommendations on the transfer of a judge to another court; determination of the need for a state order for the professional training of candidates for the position of judge at the National School of Judges of Ukraine; carrying out qualification evaluation of judges; ensuring the maintenance of the judge's file and the file of a candidate for the position of a judge.
The Faculty of Law of NAU has ambitious plans and ideas for future cooperation with the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in order to implement the vision of the Faculty's development – leadership in professional and scientific education, scientific and pedagogical activities, training of highly qualified lawyers who are competitive in Ukraine and abroad.
