To celebrate World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day, on April 16, 2024, Diana Maistro, a senior lecturer at the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law, held a lecture-presentation for students of higher education, dedicated to the activities of Ihor Sikorsky International Airport "Kyiv" (Zhulyany).
This virtual event is organized for students of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in the specialty 262 "Law enforcement activity", because before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, this airport acted as a stakeholder-employer for graduates of this specialty after graduating from the National Aviation Institute.
"Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Airport" is the second largest international passenger airport of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv, located within the capital's Zhulyany microdistrict, 8 km southwest of the city center. The complex of the new Kyiv airport was built back in 1949 according to the project of the architect Viktor Yelizarov - one of the authors of the updated Khreshchatyk, and the name "Zhulyani" airport began to be used in the 1960s after the construction of the new airport in Boryspil. On March 22, 2018, the Kyiv City Council named the airport "Kyiv" after the aircraft designer Ihor Sikorsky," said Diana Maistro.
At the end of the meeting, the students actively asked questions and shared interesting facts they know about Ihor Sikorsky International Airport "Kyiv" (Zhulyany).
