On April 5, 2024, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Law for students of the 3rd year of higher education in the specialty 081 "Law" with Olga Fedina, the chief technologist, head of the Training Center for Ground Handling of the Boryspil International Airport.
With the aim of in-depth study of the topic "Legal regulation of aviation transport" from the academic discipline "Transport Law", Ms. Olga familiarized students with current issues of certification in the field of civil aviation, in particular, certification of airports, airport ground staff and aviation service providers, and also talked about the types certificates, the procedure for obtaining them and their validity period.
The speaker noted that Boryspil International Airport has all relevant certificates stipulated by ICAO standards, and in December 2023 Boryspil Airport received the Primary Award certificate of conformity from the British Institute CIPS, which certifies the airport's high compliance with all international standards, which means that the airport is ready to open flights as soon as the necessary security conditions are met.
It is noted that currently, despite the absence of flights, Boryspil Airport continues to improve security measures at the airport and maintain the appropriate level of qualification of ground staff, conducts their training and practical internships at workplaces, carries out measures to support and maintain airport infrastructure and equipment, support certification and airport licensing suitability.
Concluding the report, Olha Fedyna emphasized the importance of clear and transparent legislative regulation of airport activity, because the foundation of reproducing the potential of the airport and its infrastructural component in Ukraine in war and post-war times is the timely introduction of advanced innovative technologies based on efficiency and systematicity.
