On April 4, 2024, the Faculty of Law hosted a round table entitled "The Law of Regulation of Aviation and Space Activities in the Conditions of Martial Law" as part of the 24th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Graduates of Higher Education and Young Scientists "FLIGHT. Modern problems of science".
Opening the event, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, Iryna Sopilko, emphasized the importance of communication and exchange of experience in the field of aviation and space activities, adding: "As of today, Ukraine has already launched official negotiations with air transport regulators regarding the restoration of connections after two-year break and presented its vision of how it will work in market conditions. The legal regime of martial law, taking into account all risks, algorithms and actions. We hope that in the near future, taking into account all security measures, our state will partially restore air traffic, but this is a very appropriate decision for the leadership of our country."
Deputy Chairman of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, Ihor Zelinsky, addressed the scientific and pedagogical workers, students, graduate students and young scientists with a welcome speech, who in his report highlighted the state of aircraft of Ukraine and their airworthiness, talked about the development of the aviation industry of Ukraine, including during the period of military state, outlined the peculiarities of the work of the employees of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine in a European country and on the international arena.
Artur Gordienko, a representative of the Zaporizhia National University, also joined the scientific discussion, revealing the issue of adapting Ukrainian legislation in the field of air protection and airspace safety to EU standards. In his report, he emphasized that the level of solving national environmental problems, which are essentially transnational and global, depends on the level and quality of the development and implementation of political, economic and organizational mechanisms of European environmental integration. One of the separate aspects in this matter is the proper legislative provision of these processes.
Summarizing the presented theses-reports, the conference participants noted that, despite the difficulties, Ukrainian aviation and cosmonautics has great potential for further development, thanks to favorable geographical conditions, highly qualified personnel and the forecast, they are being integrated into the European aviation space.
"Despite all the obstacles, we should write about Ukrainian aviation and cosmonautics, because they are a symbol of freedom and have a long way to new heights. The efforts of the government, business and the public can help Ukrainian aviation and cosmonautics to take a worthy place on the world stage and become a real force that will contribute to the development and prosperity of the country," said those present.
