On March 5, 2024, Diana Koval, a student of the 2nd course of the specialty 081 "Law" of the Faculty of Law, together with Veronika Oleshchenko, a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, held a career orientation event for students of the senior classes of Varas Lyceum No. 6 on the topic "Legal Culture of Youth".
The goal is to draw the attention of young people to the importance of raising the level of legal awareness and legal culture of every citizen. It is noted that the legal culture of youth is manifested through the lawful behavior of a person, understanding and use of legal norms in various spheres of it life. "The latest events taking place in the world and in our country: the Covid-19 epidemic, the war, the development of digital technologies and social networks - all this led to a rapid decline in the level of legal culture of young people and the growth of legal nihilism, the emergence of new anti-social phenomena such as bullying and cyberbullying," said the student.
Information about the scope of rights and specifics of the legal responsibility of minors for committing antisocial phenomena was especially interesting and useful for the listeners.
Summing up the results of the meeting, the representative of the student community noted that education of the legal culture of citizens is connected, first of all, with the legal socialization of the individual, assimilation of legal values, norms, and attitudes developed by society. Even if future applicants do not choose a legal profession, they still need to know, understand and respect the law and legal guidelines. And for those who are interested in jurisprudence and see their future in the field of law, the Faculty of Law of NAU is the institution where you can get the best quality and professional knowledge.
