On February 28, 2024, associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law, Iryna Litvinova, held a career orientation meeting with students of the 10-A class of the Ukrainian College named after V.O. Sukhomlynskyi, Kyiv (Specialized School No. 272) on the topic "Police investigator: lawyer or law enforcement officer?".
"The profession of a police officer is one of the most necessary for people: always and everywhere, in any society, there is a need to maintain public order, observe the law, and ensure the protection of citizens and their property. Who is a policeman is considered not only by scientists and practitioners, but also by ordinary citizens, especially future applicants who are thinking about choosing a future profession. The matter of training a professional policeman is a matter of more than one year of hard training, assimilation by the student of dozens of legal and other disciplines. The position of investigator and a number of other positions in the National Police are inextricably linked to the availability of a higher legal education. After all, in everyday activities, a police officer constantly needs to make decisions, analyzing the investigated cases through the prism of criminal, criminal procedural, administrative, civil, economic, tax, land law, etc., "the teacher noted during the conversation with schoolchildren.
During the thematic career orientation meeting, Iryna Litvinova also provided the high school students with information about the educational institution, introduced them to the innovations of the admission company of 2024, the conditions of admission and study at the Faculty of Law in the specialties 081 "Law" and 262 "Law enforcement activity".
