On February 27, 2024, at the Faculty of Law of the National Aviation University, the annual All-Ukrainian creative competition “Word about Ukraine” was held, dedicated to the proclamation of the Act of Union of the Ukrainian People’s and Western Ukrainian People’s Republics.
The festive event was attended by students of institutions of general secondary education in the city of Kyiv, Kyiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions, as well as applicants for higher education from the Faculty of Law of the National Aviation University.
Acting Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Policy and Innovation of NAU Maryna Petchenko, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law Iryna Sopilko wished the participants self-confidence, colorful performances, and bright victories. Associate Professor of the Theory and History of State and Law Department Svitlana Golovko noted that the strength of Ukraine is in unity, which is a prerequisite for the successful resistance of our state to external threats.
Those gathered observed a minute of silence in memory of the military and civilians who gave their lives for Ukraine, including teachers and graduates of the University.
The contestants demonstrated their skills in making speeches and reciting poetry. Their talents were assessed by a jury consisting of: NAU Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Policy and Innovation Maryna Petchenko, acting Dean of the Faculty of Law Iryna Sopilko, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law Firm Nina Trotsyuk, Associate Professor of the Theory and History of State and Law Department Svitlana Golovko.
Everybody was amazed by the outstanding performances of Maria Mazur, a student of 8-A class at the biotechnology gymnasium No. 177 of Kyiv (1st place); Maria Bychkova, a student of 11-A class of the Ivan Franko Specialized School of I-III degrees with in-depth study of the English language No. 92 in the city of Kyiv (1st place); Denys Shmatko, 4th year student at the Law Faculty of NAU (1st place); Amina Zhymurenko, a student of 10-B class of the I. Ya. Franko "Orzhitsa secondary school of I-III levels, Orzhitsa village council, Poltava region" (2nd place); Igor Skrypko, a student of the 11-A class of the Ivan Franko Specialized School of I-III degrees with in-depth study of the English language No. 92 in the city of Kyiv (2nd place); Liliya Pomaz, 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Law of NAU (2nd place); Artem Oliynik, a student of 10th class of the A.F. Yoffe Romen Lyceum No. 2 of the Romen City Council of the Sumy region (3rd place); Yana Kushnir, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Law of NAU (3rd place).
The winners in the nominations were: “Patriotic Word” - Daria Barkhalenko, a 9-A student of class I-III school No. 308 in the Desnyansky district of Kiev and Vitaly Orlov, a 2nd-year student at the Faculty of Law of NAU; “Eloquence” – Elyzaveta Koshman and Karina Nikitchyk, students of class 7-A of Specialized School No. 52 with in-depth study of information technologies in the city of Kyiv; “Best presentation” – Maria Mazur, an 8-A class student at the Gymnasium of Biotechnology No. 177 in Kyiv and Karina Avdyushkina, 2nd-year student at the Faculty of Law of NAU. A group of 9-B class students from school No. 308 of the Desnyansky district of Kyiv won the “Originality of Speech” category. The best in the nomination “Emotionality and Sincerity” were Natalya Gerasymenko, a 10th-class student at the Muzychansky Lyceum of the Belogorodsky Village Council of the Buchansky District of the Kyiv Region, as well as the youngest participants in the competition - Maria Kirilyuk and Kristina Shklyarskaya, 5-B grade students at the I-III district school in Kyiv.
