On 20 February 2024, students of the English-language project of the speciality 081 "Law" of the School of Law took part in a webinar organised by the by the Ukrainian Foreign Policy Association in cooperation with the New Zealand Institute of of International Relations (Auckland) on the topic "Two-Year Anniversary of Russia's Invasion of Ukraine".
The speakers were: Ruben Azizian, Terry Johanson, Jose Miguel Alonso-Trabanco - representatives of the Centre for Defence and Security Studies, Massey University, Volodymyr Khandogiy - Ambassador, President of the Ukrainian Foreign Policy Association, former acting Ihor Lytvyn - Ambassador, Co-Chairman of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council, former Ambassador to China and Indonesia, Oleksandr Sharov - Chief Research Fellow at the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, former Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, Borys Humeniuk - Head of the Department of History of International Relations and Humanities at the Drahomanov Ukrainian State University, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Mykola Kulinich - Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations of the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, former Ambassador of Australia, Markiyan Malsky - Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, former Ambassador of Poland.
The webinar's discussion segment included three panels: 1. Geopolitical changes: self-determination, territorial integrity and international rules; 2. Digital currencies in a modern economic state; 3. Modern warfare: lessons from the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
As a result of the discussions and debates, the students of the School of Law were once again convinced of the need to call on the international community to establish a special tribunal for the criminal actions of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
