On December 13, 2023, as part of the study of the academic discipline "History of the Ukrainian State and Law" for first (bachelor's) level higher education students of the 1st year of the EPP "Jurisprudence", Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Svitlana Holovko and first-year students Rostyslav Letkiv, Ihor Khubulov, Myroslava Kaliuzhna, Daniil Pleskaniuk held a lecture-conference on "Revival and Development of the Ukrainian State".
During the session, issues of establishing national statehood and legislative formalization of the creation of an independent Ukrainian state, legal principles of the state's foreign policy, the formation of government bodies in the context of independence, reforming the legal system and codification of modern Ukrainian law were considered and discussed.
The issue of the functioning of the human rights protection mechanism in Ukraine in the context of an armed conflict sparked a particular debate among education seekers. In his speech, Rostyslav Letkiv mentioned Russia's crimes in Irpin, Bucha, Mariupol, Izyum and other Ukrainian towns and villages, noting that the world needs effective international instruments to ensure respect for human rights.
At 9 a.m., those present honored with a minute of silence the memory of all those killed as a result of the Russian Federation's armed aggression against Ukraine, recalled the Heroes who fought and died for our future, innocent children, peaceful Ukrainians and all fellow citizens.
Summing up the event, Svitlana Holovko noted that Ukrainians are a courageous and free people capable of rebuilding and defending an independent and sovereign state.
