On December 11, 2023, as part of career guidance, Iryna Litvinova, associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Process of the Faculty of Law, for students of the 10th grade of the Ukrainian College named after V. O. Sukhomlynskyi of Kyiv (Specialized School No. 272) held a legal lecture on the topic "Ensuring children's rights under martial law".
During the meeting, the lecturer shared with schoolchildren information about the state of ensuring children's rights in the city of Kyiv, discussed with them problematic issues and specific situations that require a response in the conditions of martial law. Iryna Litvinova also analyzed the norms of international and national legislation for compliance with new challenges that appeared in the field of child rights protection in connection with the war.
"Ukraine is a participant in a number of international documents in the field of ensuring children's rights. However, in the conditions of martial law, which has been introduced throughout the country, it is extremely difficult to implement the functions assigned to the state to ensure the protection of children's rights," the teacher said.
At the end of the meeting, future applicants were provided with detailed information about the prospects of studying at the Faculty of Law of NAU and the available opportunities for obtaining higher education in specialties 081 "Law" and 262 "Law enforcement".
