On December 6, 2023, a meeting with a 2011 graduate of the NAU Law Institute, head of the legal service of the State Enterprise "State Research Institute of Construction constructions", lawyer Yana Yagnichenko.
The faculty stakeholder highlighted the peculiarities of the legal profession in the public sector. Using practical examples from her own experience, the speaker told the students about the peculiarities of working with documents of legal significance at state-owned enterprises, the peculiarities of court proceedings where one of the parties is a state-owned enterprise and the interests of the state. Also, the specifics of cooperation with ministries and state authorities and communal enterprises are highlighted. The students' attention was focused on the ethical culture of the civil servant "The private sector recommends, and the public sector obliges to observe the ethical norms of the lawyer's behavior, although not everyone remembers this," said Ms. Yana.
At the end of the meeting, the guest gave important and sincere advice to future law specialists: "To form yourself as a specialist, you need to start practicing as early as possible, starting from student years - write concisely, read quickly, listen carefully, argue. Currently, an important lever of legal practice is the application and analysis of the actual practice of the Supreme Court, as well as European experience and international terminology."
Finally, the lawyer noted that a lawyer in the public sector is a person who is ready to change the state for the better, to understand and develop state processes, to invest his knowledge and skills, first of all, to ensure public and national interests, and not for his own benefit.
