On November 24, 2023, the Congress of legal clinics of the city of Kyiv was held on the topic "Strategic goals of the development of clinical legal aid in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine". Legal consultation "Legal Clinic" of the Faculty of Law of NAU was represented by director Iryna Bohatiuk.
The congress was held at the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the chairmanship of the head of the legal clinic "Phoenix" Mykola Maliy. The rector of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yurii Boshytskyi and the vice-rector for administrative work Anatoliy Markevich took part in the opening ceremony, who addressed the participants with a welcome speech and wished them fruitful work.
During the meeting, the delegates discussed the actual issues of legal clinic activity, in particular: the influence of martial law on the organizational activity of legal clinics, the automation of office management in legal clinics, the use of grant programs to increase the effectiveness of legal clinics, the role of communication ethics in the activities of legal clinics, and others. Summarizing the covered topics, the heads of legal clinics in Kyiv noted the mostly negative impact of martial law on the conditions for providing clinical legal aid.
According to the results of the work of the Congress, the strategic goals of the activity of legal clinics were defined and the prospects for the development of clinical legal aid in the conditions of martial law were outlined.
