On November 23, 2023, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Oksana Panova took part in the training "Artificial Intelligence for War Crimes Documentaries".
The training was organized within the framework of the Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity with the support of USAID Ukraine.
The speakers of the event were: Maksym Shcherbatiuk, Program Director of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union (UHUHR), and Serhiy Movchan, Head of the UHUHR War Crimes Documentation Department.
During the training, the issue of using artificial intelligence in the analysis of photos and videos with evidence of war crimes was worked out; Ukrainian experience in identifying persons guilty of war crimes; the ethical aspect of using artificial intelligence during the documentation of war crimes and data analysis; the use of artificial intelligence by state authorities in the investigation of war crimes. The experience gained will be useful to the teacher during the teaching of such disciplines as: "Forensics", "Military criminal law", "Actual problems of military criminal offences".
