On September 27, 2023, Judge Ilarion Rudyk of the Holosiivskyi District Court of the city of Kyiv held a lecture on the topic "General characteristics of legal activity" for students of the first year of higher education of the "Bachelor" OS "Bachelor" OPP "Jurisprudence" of the Faculty of Law.
The purpose of the event is to acquaint students with the theoretical and practical side of legal activity, its content and types, to analyze the trends of its development at the current stage of state formation within the framework of studying the discipline "Legal Deontology".
During the meeting with the students, the following issues were discussed: concepts, signs and content of legal activity; types of legal activity; moral and legal regulation of the legal profession. Particular attention was paid to consideration of practical issues from modern trends in the development of legal activity, in particular, the judge spoke about the peculiarities of the profession of a judge and justice in the conditions of the legal regime of martial law. Using specific examples, Mr. Hilarion gave practical advice to students on how to build a career as a judge, while not forgetting the mandatory interaction of legal and moral norms in judicial activity.
At the end of the event, the practicing lawyer answered the questions of those present, including the possibility of an internship with further employment at the Holosiiv District Court of Kyiv.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the department of theory and history of the state and law, Olena Makeіeva, emphasized: "In the educational process, the combination of theory and practice is very important, which is a guarantee of the quality of the educational process. The involvement of practicing lawyers is evidence of the close cooperation of the department and faculty with employers and stakeholders, as a result of which students have the opportunity to hear first-hand advice that will help them better understand the peculiarities of various legal professions and become professionals in their field."
