In order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mykola Mikhnovskyi's birth, on 23 June 2023, under the guidance of the teachers of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law, 2nd year students prepared and demonstrated presentation papers on "Mykola Mikhnovskyi as an ideologist of Ukrainian independence and practitioner of Ukrainian statehood".
In the papers on the topics proposed by the department, the students revealed the life of the prominent Ukrainian, who was one of the first to declare the need to create a Ukrainian state in modern Ukrainian history as an act of will of the Ukrainian nation. The facts from the life of the ideologue, who was engaged in law practice, social and political activities, and teaching, were interesting.
"The appeal to the figure of Mykola Mikhnovsky is extremely relevant today, as Mykola Mikhnovsky was not only a theorist of nationalism, but also a practitioner of state-building. For him, the Ukrainian national state was not a means, but a goal to be strived for," said Iryna Ustynova, Head of the Department, during the students' speeches.
Also, on 26 June 2023, the Department of Commercial, Air and Space Law held a webinar on "Historical Portrait of Mykola Mikhnovskyi", during which students were imaginatively transported to Kharkiv in the period of the XIX - early XX century, the time in which Mikhnovskyi lived and was engaged in human rights and educational activities, and learned about the ideological and political views of a true patriot who not only dreamed of Ukraine's independence but also outlined the path to this goal.
