On May 1, 2023, with the assistance of Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law Yulia Lancedova and Professor Oksana Panova for applicants for higher education of the educational degree "Master" of specialty 262 "Law Enforcement", a binary online lesson with an officer Glenn Barrett of the Saratoga Springs Police Department in the state of New York, United States of America was organized and conducted.
As part of the study of the discipline "Actual problems of policing", future law enforcement officers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the experience of the police system in the United States of America.
Officer Glenn Barrett shared with the applicants his experience in the police department and spoke in detail about the American police system, levels of education for future officers, features and specifics of work in the police.
During the meeting, students were interested in the requirements for candidates for police officers, the level of public confidence in the police, the material support of police units by the state, etc. In turn, teachers and students told Officer Glenn Barrett about the peculiarities of the work of law enforcement agencies in Ukraine.
The binary lesson provided an opportunity to expand awareness of future law enforcement officers about the work of foreign police stations in order to possibly adopt experience and improve the work of domestic law enforcement agencies.
