On April 25, 2023, the Faculty of Law held a methodical seminar for interns and heads of academic groups on the topic «Information culture and personal competence in today's conditions».
The following took part in the event: dean Volodymyr Nikitin, deputy dean for educational and organizational work Nina Trotsyuk, head of the Department of Theory and History of the State and Law, senior mentor Olena Makeіeva, inspector of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, sergeant of the Main Personnel Training Center named after Major General Igor Momota, journalist Svitlana Kelyp, mentors and heads of groups.
"One of the main tasks of the information society is the development of the information culture of the individual, in particular, the creation of such an educational environment that would stimulate the process of cognition and accumulation of modern knowledge. Today, we have to train students in the ability to use information and communication technologies and means of communication, to search and process the necessary legal information," emphasized Dean Volodymyr Nikitin, opening the event.
During the methodological seminar, the following issues were considered: the content of information culture and information literacy; information competence of the individual in today's conditions; information ethics as a necessary element of an individual's information culture; legal communication as a factor in the formation of information culture; the role of media education in legal and patriotic education of students; problems of digital transformation of the educational process in Ukraine.
The speech of the inspector of the State Border Service of Ukraine Svitlana Kelyp, a defender of Ukraine, was particularly relevant, who revealed the practical aspects of the transformation of the Ukrainian media space in the conditions of a full-scale war with the Russian Federation, gave practical advice to those present on maintaining information hygiene and recommended effective ways of countering hostile disinformation, fakes and narratives.
Summing up the event, the head of the department of theory and history of the state and law, senior mentor of the Faculty of Law, Olena Makeіeva, noted that the rapid development of information and communication technologies urgently requires thorough training of students to skillfully and safely use them. In order to achieve a high level of information culture, it is necessary not only to know, but also to be able to independently find legal information and analyze it. This will become the basis for the formation of the information culture of the individual, will form the ability to work with various types of legal information.
