On 25 April 2023, the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Law Faculty organised a meeting of 2-3 year students with Oleksandr Kunts, Head of the Lawyer's Association "Lawyer Investment Group".
The invited guest gave an online lecture to the students on the topic "Relevance of Legal Education to the Challenges of Today". Speaking about his professional career as a young paralegal, businessman, and attorney, Oleksandr noted that despite the obstacles, one should always move forward and improve their knowledge, because everyone can do anything. Analysing the training of lawyers at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, he emphasised that it is carried out within the scope of the existing educational programmes of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. "Education depends on the fate of Ukraine, its foreign and domestic policy. As Ukraine's recovery has already begun, it is important to restore education as one of the key sectors in the training of human potential," the guest said.
The students and lecturers were extremely impressed by the practicing lawyer's explanation of global trends in legal education and current challenges analysed by such sources as the UK Ministry of Defence: "Global Strategic Studies - The Future Starts Today", the International Monetary Fund "Global Debt Database", the United Nations Population Division "World Population Prospects", etc.
A lively discussion was sparked by the comparison of higher education in Western countries and Ukraine: vision, mission, values, opposing freedoms of thought and practice in the study of the subject, the formation of a value-based common environment between teachers and students for continuous self-improvement, the use of new technologies, and the consideration of international trends and the specifics of Ukraine.
The students of the National Aviation University are the driving force behind the development of the higher education institution, and their personal development is the key to quality education.
