On April 20, 2023, a meeting of the scientific circle on criminal law was held, in which teachers and students of specialties 081 "Law" and 262 "Law enforcement" participated.
The format of the meeting was chosen to be a scientific and practical seminar on the topic "Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of air transport".
The meeting was moderated by associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, candidate of legal sciences, associate professor Tetiana Lysko.
Students of education separately focused on researching the specifics of criminal responsibility for violating the rules of traffic safety and operation of transport, in particular air transport. Anzhelika Levchenko (PR-204) conducted thorough scientific research in this direction, presenting the report "Violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport: features of criminal liability". Yevgenia Gubka (PR-204) made a report on the topic "Criminal liability for violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation by persons who drive vehicles while intoxicated (Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)". Nazar Telyushchenko (PR-204) pointed out the peculiarities of criminal liability for illegal possession of a vehicle (Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The first-year masters of the specialty 262 "Law enforcement activity" took an active part in the meeting of the circle: Andriy Dobrovolskyi (topic of the report "Features of criminal responsibility for the arbitrary and unnecessary stopping of a train (Article 283 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)"), Yulia Dyakova (topic of the report "Criminal responsibility for commissioning technically defective vehicles or other violation of their operation (Article 287 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)"), Oleksandr Matvienko (topic of the report "Criminal responsibility for violation of air flight rules"), Viktor Mangushevskyi (topic of the report "Criminal responsibility for violation of airspace use rules"). As a result, the students of higher education noted that criminal offenses against traffic safety and the operation of transport deserve increased attention in the conditions of martial law and need improvement by making appropriate changes to the current Criminal Code of Ukraine. The next meeting of the scientific circle is scheduled for May 18, 2023, on the agenda of which is a summary of the work of the scientific circle for the 2022-2023 academic year and the determination of the most active participants.
