«Digital rights» is a category that defines the specifics of the implementation and guarantee of the protection of human rights on the Internet. The term «digital rights» is widely used in the European community today, in particular, in the context of the right to access the Internet, freedom of expression, protection of personal data and privacy online,» said Olena Makeіeva, opening the event.
Presenting the report, Myroslava Olhovik emphasized the relevance of the discussed topic, considering the huge role played by the Internet in modern life. "Everyone has the right to online privacy and protection of personal data, to equal access and use of a free and safe Internet environment," the speaker noted.
The practical aspect of the event was a conversation about the protection of personal data on the Internet, because websites and every social network collect certain personal data about each user with his permission. The speakers emphasized that the child has the right to know what information about him is kept by the school administration, the police or the social network. 2nd-year students Karina Simonovych, Yana Kushnir, Anzhelika Levchenko, presenting their works, familiarized high school students with basic digital rights, in particular: the right to freely express opinions on the Internet, the right to access the Internet, the right to privacy, the right to protect personal data, and discussed problems of cyberbullying and its manifestations in the modern information environment.
At the end of the training, Ludmila Shapenko told the students about the advantages of studying at the Faculty of Law and invited them to the Open Day, which will be held on April 12, 2023 at NAU.
Such measures are useful for today's youth, because nowadays it is necessary to take care of the digital safety of children at school and at home, to take care of the observance and protection of digital rights on the Internet.
