On April 5, 2023, Oleg Boyko, a private notary of the Kyiv City Notary District, held a master class «The Institute of Notaries in Ukraine: Modern Challenges» for those seeking higher education at the Faculty of Law.
The purpose of the event is to acquaint students with the peculiarities of the notary profession, because in modern conditions the role of notaries in Ukraine is growing significantly, which is due to the development of civil turnover, the expansion of the range of private property objects and the growing need for efficient and highly professional activities of notaries.
During the speech, Oleg Boyko revealed the role and significance of the notary institution as one of the human rights institutions of the state guarantee of compliance with the legality of the rights and interests of every person.
«In the conditions of the development of information and communication technologies, the notary profession faces new challenges, which make it necessary to apply the latest approaches to the organization of its activities. The work of a notary is the result of constant development and improvement of abilities and skills. Guided by common goals, we bear sole responsibility for the results of our work and the decisions we make,» the speaker said.
During the meeting, the speaker revealed the basic conditions for acquiring the right to engage in notarial practice, the principles of a notary's activity, among which the main ones are legality, independence, responsibility, justice, and highlighted the specifics of a notary's work under the legal regime of martial law.
It should be noted that Oleg Boyko combines practical activity with scientific activity - he is a graduate student of the Faculty of Law and is working on a dissertation study, as he believes that for a notary it is important to constantly improve, learn and implement advanced solutions and technologies in daily practice, despite the conservatism of this profession.
Summarizing the results of the meeting, the head of the Department of Theory and History of the State and Law, Olena Makeyeva, thanked the speaker for a meaningful and interesting report, noting that understanding the role of the notary institution is important for future lawyers, as dedication to the cause turns knowledge and experience into confidence in the notary on the part of Ukrainian society. high-quality performance of duties and compliance with high notary standards are the key to the development of the legal system of Ukraine.
