On March 28, 2023, the 4th year students of the School of Law held an online meeting with Olga Mala, a lawyer of the National Bank of Ukraine.
As part of the course "Commercial Procedural Law of Ukraine", which students are studying in the 2nd semester of the academic year 2022-2023, the speaker proposed the topic "Representation in Commercial Proceedings".
Introducing the guest, Head of the Department of Commercial, Air and Space Law Liubov Netska noted that future lawyers have a number of questions about the application of procedural law when studying certain topics provided for in the working curriculum of this discipline. The above factors prompted us to invite Olga Mala, a lawyer at the National Bank of Ukraine, PhD in Law, to share her practical experience with young people on this topic.
The topic of representing the state's interests in commercial courts was of particular interest and lively discussion among the students.
During the meeting, the practitioner paid attention to the current problems of representation, legal opinions of the Supreme Court on these issues, and analyzed with the students all stages of registration and confirmation of the powers of a representative authorized to represent the interests of a legal entity in court. Taking into account her past experience as a prosecutor, Olga Mala also discussed with the students the peculiarities of representing the state's interests in court, emphasizing the significant limitations of such cases.
At the end of her speech, the practicing lawyer provided comprehensive answers to the questions of the students and wished them to acquire good knowledge of commercial procedural law, as it is lawyers who will be responsible for the development of Ukraine and the protection of its interests in the future.
