On March 16, 2023, a meeting of the scientific circle on criminal law was held, in which teachers and students of specialties 081 "Law" and 262 "Law enforcement" participated.
The format of the meeting was chosen to be an online scientific and practical seminar on the topic "Modern problems of criminal responsibility for crimes against the foundations of national security of Ukraine".
Tetyana Lysko, associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, candidate of legal sciences, moderated the meeting.
The participants discussed problematic issues of criminal liability for actions aimed at violently changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power (speaker - Vladyslav Yasinsky, PR-204B), specifics of criminal liability for financing actions committed with the aim of violently changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizure of state power, changes in the boundaries of the territory or the state border of Ukraine (speaker - Sofia Makoznak, PR-306B), debatable issues of the qualification of treason (speaker - Karina Zakharova, PR-204B), strengthening of criminal responsibility for sabotage (speaker - Yevgenia Gubka, PR -204B).
As a result, the students of higher education noted that criminal offenses against the foundations of national security deserve increased attention in the conditions of martial law and need to be improved by making appropriate changes to the current Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The next meeting of the scientific group on the no less relevant topic "Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of air transport" is scheduled for April 20, 2023.
