On February 16, 2023, a meeting of the scientific group on criminal law was held, which was attended by teachers and students of the specialty 081 "Law" and 262 "Law Enforcement".
The format of the meeting was a scientific and practical seminar on the topic "Strengthening criminal liability for military offenses: an analysis of the novelties of the legislation."
The moderator of the meeting was Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, Candidate of Law Tetiana Lysko.
The participants discussed the problematic issues of strengthening criminal liability for military offenses in connection with the amendments to Art. Century. 69 and 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (speaker – Nadiia Zakharchuk, PR-304B), peculiarities of criminal liability for unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of service (speaker – Sofia Makoznak, PR-306B), debatable issues of qualification of non-compliance with the order (speaker – Kristina Shylova, PR-306B), strengthening criminal liability for looting under martial law (speaker – Daria Polishchuk, PR-201B).
Applicants for higher education expressed interest in the problem of strengthening criminal liability for committing military criminal offenses, pointing out gaps in the novelties of the legislation and proposals for their elimination.
The next meeting of the scientific circle on the equally relevant topic "Problems of criminal liability for committing crimes against the foundations of national security under martial law" is scheduled for March 16, 2023.
