In order to celebrate the Day of Unity of Ukraine, on February 3, 2023, a corporate hour was held for students of the PR-203B group of the Faculty of Law on the topic «Ukraine celebrates the Day of Unity. The history of formation, cancellation and restoration».
The mentor of the group, Diana Maistro, revealed fragmentary information about the Act of Zluka, which became the historical unification of Ukrainian lands into one state.
«He crowned the conciliar aspirations of Ukrainians from both parts of Ukraine - Transnistria and Transnistria - since at least the middle of the 19th century. This is a fundamental milestone of Ukrainian statehood. On August 24, 1991, an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR adopted the Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine. He was supported by Ukrainians at the All-Ukrainian referendum on December 1, 1991. However, historians quite rightly note that on August 24, the state independence of Ukraine was restored. For the first time in the 20th century, it was proclaimed the IV Universal by the Ukrainian Central Rada on January 22, 1918. A year later, on January 22, 1919, the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic were united into one state on Sofia Maidan in Kyiv,» the mentor noted.
At the end of the corporate hour, students watched the documentary film «Symbols of our will».
