As part of the initiative of the NGO "La Strada - Ukraine", on January 24, 2023, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Criminal Law and Process of the Faculty of Law took part in the online presentation of the gamified online quest "Live Without Illusions" to combat gender-based violence.

The speakers discussed Ukrainian and international experience in countering and preventing violence among vulnerable population groups, told how to act to protect the victims and guarantee their safety, invent new solutions for the sake of community safety in order to act to prevent violence, shared the experience of mobile response groups in cases of domestic violence, etc.

Valeria Bondar, specialist of the NGO "La Strada - Ukraine", coordinator of the presented project, and TetyanaKharkivska of the NGO "La Strada - Ukraine", assistant of the project presented to the public their innovative solution for spreading information about domestic violence, namely the gamified online quest "Live without illusions » on combating gender-based violence. During a gamified online quest, game practices and mechanisms are used in a non-game context to engage users in solving specific problems.

Summing up, the participants concluded that one of the ways to improve the mechanism for preventing and countering domestic violence and gender-based violence in Ukraine is to raise awareness about the types and manifestations of violence and to build a safe environment free from any manifestations of violence.

The materials of the online presentation will be used in the process of teaching the discipline "Combating domestic violence".
