On December 23, 2022, an online workshop "International Sanctions as a Legal Phenomenon of Human Rights Protection" was held at the Faculty of Law with the participation of young scientists at the postgraduate students of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law.
Opening the event, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Olena Makeieva noted that in the conditions of military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, international legal sanctions are one of the most powerful means of coercion to restore international peace.
Myroslava Olkhovik, Assistant of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, made a presentation on the concept and classification of international sanctions and described the peculiarities and effectiveness of their application.
The participants' attention was drawn to the presentation prepared by 2nd year student Yana Kushnir, which clearly illustrated the mechanism of applying sanctions in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On the implementation of the decision of the National Security Council to impose sanctions against 26 foreigners and 81 legal entities" (26.03.2021).
"Today the Russian Federation is the most sanctioned country in the world, and the sanctions imposed on it are the most effective mechanism of influence on the part of the civilized world community", - said the student of the group №204 Karina Simonovich.
The participation of students, young scientists, postgraduates and lecturers in discussing the importance of international sanctions is useful for using the latest information in the educational process.
