Within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement, on December 5, 2022, Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure Sofia Lykhova took part in the International Conference on "Responsibility for Theft", organized by the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (Poland, Lublin).
Leading Polish scientists discussed the problems of qualifying such a crime as theft. Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, Doctor of Law, Professor Sofia Lykhova in her report on the topic "Criminal liability for theft under the criminal law of Ukraine" described the main signs of theft and specific problems that arise during the qualification of this criminal offense. The speaker drew the attention of the participants to the fact that after February 24, 2022, any theft is qualified on the basis of "committed under martial law." Sofia Lykhova also analyzed related crimes and spoke about the peculiarities of qualification of secret theft of property of various types: movable, immovable, bank cards, electricity, narcotic drugs, weapons, etc., separately focused on the analysis of legislative norms that differ in the Criminal Code of Ukraine and in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Poland.
Based on the results of the International Conference, it is planned to publish a collective monograph.
